A little bit tricky,but really great…Look‘s fantastic
This hummingbird building block set was a challenge to put together but the finished product was worth the effort.
My son expressed a lot of frustration while he was putting the set together. The alignment of the brick pieces do not always perfectly fit so it requires a little extra force. There were also a few missing pieces in the set but my son was able to use some other pieces to substitute.
The LED lights add a really cool effect to the set. The hummingbird has a bit of a cyberpunk look to it. Don't get fooled by the promo video, there are no mechanics in this set to make the bird move on its own. In fact, I don't recommend moving the parts of the bird once you put it together for fear that the whole set will come apart.
Once you put this set together, I do not recommend you try to move it. The hummingbird is only attached to the tree by a few pieces and the pieces that make up the ground layer are not very rigid. When we moved the set to try to put it in my son's room, the bird and fell apart and we had to spend a few hours putting it back together again.
We had to think about the placement of the completed set so you can easily see both sides of the hummingbird since each side looks very different.
I keep this in my home office, and clients are always curious about it. It’s such a unique piece.
The instructions were clear, the pieces fit well, and it was incredibly relaxing to assemble. Building the wings was my favorite part.
